Example Tips: Fractions Made Simple
Here’s a glimpse of the kind of contributions we’re looking for—practical, effective, and easy-to-apply tips for teaching maths:
1. The Pizza Method for Adding Fractions Visualise two pizzas—one cut into 6 slices and the other into 4. To combine slices from both, each pizza needs the same number of slices (a common denominator). This visualisation simplifies the concept and engages learners.
2. Divide to Conquer for Converting Fractions to Decimals Explain that fractions represent division. For example, to convert 3/8 to a decimal, divide 3 by 8. This method is straightforward and empowers learners to approach fractions with confidence.
What’s in it for You?
Recognition: Your tips will be featured on our blog, with full credit to you.
Flexibility: Share your insights in your own time—whether it’s a quick tip or a detailed teaching method.
Opportunities: Eligible tutors may be offered remote teaching roles to work directly with learners who need your support.
